Professional Summary
Denis Ducran's entire professional career has involved the construction industry. He is a registered architect in Texas, and practiced architecture in Houston for several years prior to graduating from law school. During his architectural practice, Denis gained instrumental industry experience designing commercial office and mixed-use projects, retail, restaurants and residences in both an award winning mid-size architecture firm, and as an in-house project architect. This diverse industry experience has proven invaluable to Denis' practice of law in the area of design and construction.
He regularly represents owners, architects, contractors and subcontractors regarding contract drafting, review, negotiations and complex litigation often involving millions of dollars. Among other matters, he handles multi-party design and construction defect claims, delay claims, payment disputes, and other construction related disputes arising from single and multi-family residential projects, as well as large commercial projects.
Denis also represents clients in connection with personal injury cases arising from construction accidents, premises liability, and various other matters including auto accidents. He has significant experience defending individuals and corporations in these personal injury lawsuits.
With his unique professional background and litigation experience including several jury trials, Denis is a frequent speaker for many design and construction industry organizations offering continuing education programs to architects, contractors and subcontractors including the American Institute of Architects and the Associated General Contractors of America, among others.
