Professional Summary
For over 25 years, John has concentrated on complex litigation matters representing defendants and claimants. Holder of highest possible peer rating of AV for over 15 years, his varied experience includes cases involving commercial and residential construction, banking, business, securities, fraud, class actions, general and commercial aviation, product liability, toxic tort, oil field/rig accidents, clergy/counseling abuse, medical negligence and general negligence.

John has represented and advised small businesses and multi-national corporations, banking institutions, developers, landowners, construction companies, attorneys and law firms, nursing homes, physicians, aircraft and aircraft component manufacturers as claimant and defendant in insured and direct-representation matters. He has practiced before courts in Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Florida, Arizona and Delaware, and has been primary counsel in cases arising in Mexico, Honduras, Ecuador, Belize and other countries.

Recently, Mr. Grayson, along with Gregory Cokinos and Pat Wielinski, successfully represented a consortium of 44 banks seeking recovery of financing provided for construction of a beachfront high-rise condominium project known as Ocean Tower.  The project developed serious structural problems which required its demolition.  To see a video of the implosion, click here.  According to Engineering News-Record, the 378'9" tower is the tallest reinforced concrete building ever imploded.

The Center for International Legal Studies invited Mr. Grayson to speak at its 2004 meeting in Salzburg, Austria where he delivered a talk on forum non conveniens, its origins, development and how the defense is used today. John's work has been published in the Texas Bar Journal and most recently in the Fall 2009 issue of the Construction Law Journal, where John discusses creative uses of the Declaratory Judgments Act in the construction litigation context.  Mr. Grayson's style of practice has been described as thoughtful, efficient, creative and aggressive.

John, his wife, Teresa, and their 12 year old son, Mason, reside in Kingwood where he is a Boy Scout assistant leader and is church Chancellor and former Vestry Senior Warden for Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.
